Fathers for Justice
January 29th, 2008 at 01:24 pm by Clive Bellmore in ChildrenThe Fathers’ support group Fathers for Justice was set up in 2002 by Matt O’Conner with a view to changing UK law to allow children to have equal and fair access to both their parents. The group have managed to raise a massive amount of exposure with some extremely high profile stunts, including scaling Buckingham Palace dressed as Batman.

The website for the group, www.fathers-4-justice.org offers advice in the form of a private members forum, for which you pay a subscription of £30 per year.
If you’re having difficulty seeing your children I’d strongly advise you to join F4J and gain the advice of other fathers in your position. As they advertise on their website, it’s much cheaper than a single consultation with a solicitor and far more useful.

Thanks for the plug, Clive. Can I just add that the F4J forum is searchable and contains 5 years’ worth of advice and support from people who know far more about the family courts than is good for them, which makes it probably the most valuable resource of its kind. We are also the only fathers’ rights group running a self-help forum who are not government funded - which means our advice is honest and independent.
We believe that fathers are much better off representing themselves with the help of a McKenzie Friend and a good support group than using a solicitor. A McKenzie should only charge for expenses, and won’t bankrupt you.
I should also point out that if you use the forum the wearing of lycra is not compulsory.
Thanks Nick, when I get back on my feet I’ll be making use of the F4J forum and the advice it contains. I tried using a solicitor myself to see my children; it cost me thousands and I got nowhere. I had access to them a few times, but all to often my ex wife didn’t turn up with them at the agreed time or would only bring one of my children.
Eventually she stopped altogether and Cafcass said that was fine as she didn’t have to bring them at all.
All of the money I’d paid to my solicitor was spent in vain and I wasn’t able to see my children at all.
I hope that F4J has the answers to my problem.
