Think divorce…do you think leather jackets, motorcycles and sports cars? Probably not. However there have been many studies about what triggers divorce. While women go physical symptoms and changes in the menopause, the male menopause may also trigger divorce. The male menopause is often known as the mid-life crisis and in fact is responsible for more divorces.

The stereotypical image of a man in his mid-life crisis is new trendy haircut, leather jacket, new sports car or motorcycle and possibly a new woman on his arm. Many men are said to try and recapture their youth with a new younger woman on their arm and their change in style is an attempt to try and make themselves more appealing. More extreme image changes could involve a face lift, or a vigorous gym regime.

We all know that divorce can be costly, especially when there are children involved. If you have kids and you get divorced, your wife could take up to 60% of your wealth.

However, according to a survey conducted on the website OnePoll.com, cheating actually works out more expensive than getting a divorce. The website conducted a survey of 2,000 cheats (how’d they manage to find them and get them to own up?) and fond that they mostly agreed that affairs are very expensive.

For example, cheaters were spending almost £2,000 per year on romantic (yet sordid) weekends away with their part time partner, £1,000 on dinners out and another £1,000 chocolates and flowers.

Incredibly, even 10% of guys who cheat spend money on flowers for their wife on the way home because they feel guilty.

Do you suspect that your partner might be having an affair? It could be that you’re being too suspicious and insecure, or it could be that you’re correct and your wife or husband is indeed cheating on you.

There are a few telltale signs that your partner is cheating on you. For example, if your partner has suddenly put their mobile phone on silent, when they don’t normally do that, there could be a good reason. Perhaps they’re expecting to receive calls and text messages and they don’t want you to know about it? If their phone keeps going off with messages all night, you’d rightly be suspicious, but if it’s on silent, ask yourself why!

Another telltale sign is that they’ve got a new watch, jewellery or some other thing that they wouldn’t normally buy themselves. Perhaps they’ve claimed that they’ve had some business gifts, or they’ve decided to treat themselves, but has someone else bought it for them?

Also, are they acting aloof at all? Are they not around when you’d expect them to be, and are un-contactable by phone? It could be that they’re with someone else.

You shouldn’t always be suspicious of your partner, but sometimes your suspicions are correct.

She may have had a great figure and perfect hair, and represented the ideal woman to most men in the world, but when it came to competing with Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston came up second best. Jen’s marriage to Brad Pitt (most women’s perfect man) ending prematurely when he cheated on her with Miss Lara Croft on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith.

Jen’s five year marriage was ended by Brad’s adulterous behaviour; however, despite feeling bitter towards Angelina, she’s still on good terms with Brad. Jen gave an interview to Vogue, which features in December’s issue, saying how angered she was by Angelina’s public telling of the breakup of Jen and Brad’s marriage.

There was stuff printed there that was definitely from a time I was unaware it was happening.

I felt those details were a little inappropriate to discuss. That stuff about how she couldn’t wait to get to work every day? That was really uncool.

Jen still shares texts with Brad though, congratulating him on the birth of his and Angelina’s recent twins.

We have exchanged a few very kind hellos and wishing you wells and sending you love and congratulations on your babies.

I have nothing but absolute admiration for him, and I’m proud of him! I think he’s really done some amazing things!

David ‘Sex Addict’ Duchovny looks like getting divorced from his wife, and mother of his two children, Tia Leoni. The reason for the split seems to be David’s wandering eye, or more accurately his wandering hands, groin and other parts of his body, towards his tennis coach, 28-year-old Edit Parkay.

Edit has been a little contradictory on the whole affair (or reported affair) as she’d previously said she wouldn’t deny the reports of an affair between her and 48-year-old Duchovny, but has now claimed she’s not to blame for his divorce and that there is no romantic involvement between her and David.

We played tennis, and we were playing partners and friends. There is no romance, and we are just friends. No love, nothing. That is all I have to say.

Duchovny has even had his lawyer, Stanton Stein, speak up for him regarding the matter:

Edit Parkay met with me personally before this article came out and told me she never had a sexual or romantic relationship with David.

Meanwhile Duchovny’s wife, Tia, is reportedly sleeping with actor Billy Bob Thornton, co-star in her new film. Tia says about Billy Bob:

We have this incredible cast with Billy Bob Thornton, who is maybe my new favourite person in the world.

What a great couple David and Tia must have made.
