Its coming to that time of year again…the time of year when you have to send your loved ones Christmas Cards and seasonal greetings. Also you need to fork out for presents for those that mean the most to you. This blog is all about Divorce, and the question needs to be asked whether you think about ex partners at this time of year. So, do you send your ex a Christmas Card?

I suppose it depends on your relationship post split. There could be loads of humorous cards you could buy. Or you could make one and stick all their pet hates inside as a laugh. Or you could simply send a text message to them.

There are loads of theories on the Internet about what Christmas Etiquette is and whether you should or shouldn’t bother sending your Christmas greetings. The general consensus is send a card. Especially if you’re looking to open the door again on a past relationship. But don’t be too disheartened if you don’t get one in return. They may have moved on and be in a new serious relationship. Still it’s the season of good will and generally a simply card to bury the hatchet and keep old relationships on a comfortable level will reflect well on yourself.

Happy Christmas to all my ex girlfriends out there!!!

Divorcing can greatly affect the mental of both parties that’s a fact. But if you suddenly feel the need to destroy, burn, crash or steel from your ex then think better. Assets are protected by law you may have to pay for your act.

Even if burning down your ex girlfriend collection of Quiksilver Clothing seems attractive, if she has proof of ownership she will definitely claim the damage back. And it could even go further as just financial compensation. If you went mad and lost control of yourself it could go far further and a good lawyers could try to put pressure on your low mental stability.

During a divorce, nothing is simple so try to not to do things you would regret ten times afterwards. The law is strict and lawyers know they can always emphasis on bad behavior to get their client more of this or that. Children come in mind first of course. Having violent conduct will never get you the favor of the judges so keep it cool and tidy and you’ll thank yourself in ten year when everything is back and you’ve got a new young and charming beauty at your arm.

So, anyone’s got a lighter?

Think divorce…do you think leather jackets, motorcycles and sports cars? Probably not. However there have been many studies about what triggers divorce. While women go physical symptoms and changes in the menopause, the male menopause may also trigger divorce. The male menopause is often known as the mid-life crisis and in fact is responsible for more divorces.

The stereotypical image of a man in his mid-life crisis is new trendy haircut, leather jacket, new sports car or motorcycle and possibly a new woman on his arm. Many men are said to try and recapture their youth with a new younger woman on their arm and their change in style is an attempt to try and make themselves more appealing. More extreme image changes could involve a face lift, or a vigorous gym regime.

Another day..another divorce. Amy Winehouse and her hubby Blake Fielder-Civil were yesterday granted a quickie divorce.

Amy Winehouse has been on the island of St Lucia in the Caribbean for about 8 months, but was spotted teary eyed back in the UK yesterday as she flew in and arrived with divorce on her mind. The divorce is essentially blamed on “adultery” and when Winehouse was asked in a divorce document whether or not she admitted adultery, she simple answered “Yes”. She supposedly admitted adultery back in April 2008, and since then the couple have not lived together. Winehouse is believed to have penciled a song entitled ‘Ultimate Betrayal’ - how apt!

They married in Miami in Florida back in 2007 but Fielder-Civil was jailed following alleged assault on a landlord which obviously didn’t help matters. The figure of £2m has been mentioned - at least she won’t be spending it on illegal substances then!!!

Peaches Geldof has divorced her husband Max Drummy, after their whirlwind romance lasted all of 6 months. Reports claim that Peaches feels the divorce has helped her get closer to her dad, Bob Geldof,

The couple released a joint statement about the split, quoting:

“After much soul-searching we have made the mutual decision to end our marriage and have agreed to go our separate ways.

“Our parting is amicable and both of us still respect and care about each other immensely. There were no other people involved in this decision and we both look forward to a future as good friends.”

Sorry Katie and Peter…you’re not such big names in the world of divorce actually. In today’s world of celebrity divorce settlements, some of the battles over the years have been quite staggering.

Even Paul McCartney’s divorce of Heather Mills is dwarfed in comparison to some of the names that top a list quoted in the Telegraph’s online newspaper back in 2008. This big divorce and think Jordan (not Katie Price but Michael Jordan), Steven Spielberg, Michael Douglas, Mick Jagger, and Donald Trump, whose wife Ivana managed to wrestle a cool $25m dollars back in the early 1990s.

The list provided by the Telegraph (March 17th, 2008) lists the following cases. The source of the information is from Forbes Magazine:

£75.5 million - Michael Jordan versus Juanita Jordan

£75.5 million - Neil Diamond versus Marcia Murphy

£50 million - Steven Spielberg versus Amy Irving

£41 million - Kevin Costner versus Sindy Silva

£30 million - Kenny Rogers versus wife Marriane

£25 million - James Cameron versus Linda Hamilton

£24.3 million - Sir Paul McCartney versus Lady McCartney

£23 million - Michael Douglas versus first wife Diandra

£15 million - Ted Danson versus Casey Coates

£7.5 to £12.5 million - Mick Jagger versus Jerry Hall

Mel Gibson is set to become one of the big names supposedly about to top the list. If you can think of any other divorces that aren’t included in this blog post please let me know!!!

Roger Federer yesterday became the ‘best player of all time’ in an epic 5 set encounter with American Andy Roddick in the Wimbledon final. It was the ultimate accolade for a man already level with ‘Pistol’ Pete Sampras, a true great of the modern game whose record in the 90s and earlier 21st century was the best in the game.

Federer has now beaten Roddick in 3 Wimbledon finals but this by far should be the icing on the cake. Federer has also won praise for his greatness as a person, a man, a husband and soon to be father. This blog concentrates on divorce but Federer has a wife who is 100% behind his commitment to the sport of tennis. Federer was worried that his wife Miroslava ‘Mirka’ would go into labour during the final and was arm-in-arm with her at last nights Wimbledon Winners Party. BBC coverage yesterday afternoon suggested that Federer’s pre-match tennis warm up partner kept a mobile phone in his sock in case of any emergency calls about ‘Mirka’ going into labour.

Despite the 15 majors he now has to his name, and being one of only 6 players to win all 4 grand slams, Federer plans to continue playing for years to come with the support of his wife, and plans to be on the circuit long enough to play in front of his new born as he picks up even more acclaim and further honours in the future.

No Divorce here then!!!

Katie Price (aka Jordan) has hired Paul McCartney’s divorce lawyer for her divorce from Peter Andre. Fiona Shackleton acted as the main legal representative during Macca’s split from Heather Mills. Reports suggest that Peter Andre has also hired a divorce lawyer and is ready to cite ‘unreasonable behaviour’ as the main reason behind the split.

A source in the story claimed:

“It’s sad, but she’s (Price) given up the fight”

Recent stories of Price living up to this reputation have hit the headlines and websites have posted numrous pictures of Katie Price enjoying the single life again and showing little sign of sadness at the split, whereas Andre has lived a more sombre last month prefering to keep himself to himself with a private trip to see his family.

Price has since admitted feeling “shit and ugly”. Maybe the stress of her pending divorce is getting to her. Pictures post split show she’s partying to try and get over the split which will further infuriate Peter.
