Slash, the former lead guitarist for rock band Guns N’ Roses, is reportedly going through the process of divorcing his wife of nearly nine years, Perla Ferrar.

As reported by the Daily Mail today, Slash (real name Saul Hudson) has filed divorce papers in L.A County Superior Court citing ‘’irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the separation. The couple have two young sons together – Emilio, 8 and Cash Anthony, 6 – and Slash is said to be seeking joint custody of the two boys in the divorce agreement.

This will be the legendary guitarist’s second divorce, after he separated from first wife Renne Suran back in 1997 after five years of marriage.

It’s official: golfing superstar and cheating husband Tiger Woods is officially divorced from his Swedish wife Elin Nordegren. The couple flew out to a Panama City court to sign the last official papers. Joint statement released by the pair simply states:

“We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future,”

Even though she may be entitled to up to half of Woods’ £450 million fortune, Nordegren is reported to have received around £100million as part of a divorce settlement. Speaking to People magazine in what she says is her one and only interview, Nordegren has said:

“I have been through the stages of disbelief and shock, to anger and ultimately grief over the loss of the family I so badly wanted for my children,”

Following a husband-friendly ruling by the Court of Appeal that soon-to-be ex-wives will no longer be able to use secretly obtained financial records to prove that their estranged husbands are hiding assets, the whole nature of ‘big money’ divorce cases is set to be transformed.

The court’s decision may mean that wealthy husbands will be free to hide assets which would normally be included in divorce settlements, so that their wives will need to fight harder to lay claim to any of it.

It is hoped that this ruling will transform the UK’s reputation for allowing women to see divorce as a profitable deal rather than legal proceedings designed to split assets fairly.

It’s a controversial issue though, what do you think? Please feel free to leave your thoughts.

If you get into the unfortunate (or fortunate depending on how you look at it!) situation where you need a divorce, then you will need one thing. A good divorce lawyer. There are loads of companies or practices on the internet specialising in helping you get the right settlement. Some offer quickie divorces, some will be more in depth where the who process is drawn out over months and months. So do your research and get the best deal for you.

I’ve fortunately never been in the situation where I’ve needed a divorce (I’m not even married) but I’ve come to know the industry quite well through my job and there is big money to be made by these companies. So be careful, be selective, or perhaps even better if you can bring yourself to do it…speak to your other half and see whether if you can come to an amicable agreement on everything without getting the lawyers or solicitors involved in everything. You never know…you could end up being friends rather than screwing each other for all you can get. And depending on who has the best lawyer, one of you won’t come out on top!!!

TIger Woods, golf legend, has been the subject of much debate over the past 6 months. Not for his golf, but for his constant infidelity with a huge list of notches on his bedpost that has left his wife Elin Nordegren looking at divorcing him. A few mates and I were out playing a round of golf after work earlier this week and the conversation came up about Tiger Woods.

“All legends have vices” - said one of my mates. “What if the only reason Tiger Woods was such a successful golfer was that he was releasing all this stress with the ladies he had affairs with?”

I agree, many legends have vices, EVEN golfers. But seriously Tiger - when your wife looks like Elin Nordegren, I don’t feel there’s much point looking elsewhere.

Its coming to that time of year again…the time of year when you have to send your loved ones Christmas Cards and seasonal greetings. Also you need to fork out for presents for those that mean the most to you. This blog is all about Divorce, and the question needs to be asked whether you think about ex partners at this time of year. So, do you send your ex a Christmas Card?

I suppose it depends on your relationship post split. There could be loads of humorous cards you could buy. Or you could make one and stick all their pet hates inside as a laugh. Or you could simply send a text message to them.

There are loads of theories on the Internet about what Christmas Etiquette is and whether you should or shouldn’t bother sending your Christmas greetings. The general consensus is send a card. Especially if you’re looking to open the door again on a past relationship. But don’t be too disheartened if you don’t get one in return. They may have moved on and be in a new serious relationship. Still it’s the season of good will and generally a simply card to bury the hatchet and keep old relationships on a comfortable level will reflect well on yourself.

Happy Christmas to all my ex girlfriends out there!!!

Divorcing can greatly affect the mental of both parties that’s a fact. But if you suddenly feel the need to destroy, burn, crash or steel from your ex then think better. Assets are protected by law you may have to pay for your act.

Even if burning down your ex girlfriend collection of Quiksilver Clothing seems attractive, if she has proof of ownership she will definitely claim the damage back. And it could even go further as just financial compensation. If you went mad and lost control of yourself it could go far further and a good lawyers could try to put pressure on your low mental stability.

During a divorce, nothing is simple so try to not to do things you would regret ten times afterwards. The law is strict and lawyers know they can always emphasis on bad behavior to get their client more of this or that. Children come in mind first of course. Having violent conduct will never get you the favor of the judges so keep it cool and tidy and you’ll thank yourself in ten year when everything is back and you’ve got a new young and charming beauty at your arm.

So, anyone’s got a lighter?

Think divorce…do you think leather jackets, motorcycles and sports cars? Probably not. However there have been many studies about what triggers divorce. While women go physical symptoms and changes in the menopause, the male menopause may also trigger divorce. The male menopause is often known as the mid-life crisis and in fact is responsible for more divorces.

The stereotypical image of a man in his mid-life crisis is new trendy haircut, leather jacket, new sports car or motorcycle and possibly a new woman on his arm. Many men are said to try and recapture their youth with a new younger woman on their arm and their change in style is an attempt to try and make themselves more appealing. More extreme image changes could involve a face lift, or a vigorous gym regime.

Another day..another divorce. Amy Winehouse and her hubby Blake Fielder-Civil were yesterday granted a quickie divorce.

Amy Winehouse has been on the island of St Lucia in the Caribbean for about 8 months, but was spotted teary eyed back in the UK yesterday as she flew in and arrived with divorce on her mind. The divorce is essentially blamed on “adultery” and when Winehouse was asked in a divorce document whether or not she admitted adultery, she simple answered “Yes”. She supposedly admitted adultery back in April 2008, and since then the couple have not lived together. Winehouse is believed to have penciled a song entitled ‘Ultimate Betrayal’ - how apt!

They married in Miami in Florida back in 2007 but Fielder-Civil was jailed following alleged assault on a landlord which obviously didn’t help matters. The figure of £2m has been mentioned - at least she won’t be spending it on illegal substances then!!!
