$500 bail for man accused of murdering young wife
March 11th, 2009 at 09:34 am by Clive Bellmore in DivorceIf you’ve ever asked yourself ‘what is wrong with Americans?’ the answer is perfectly summed up with the news that a man who has been accused of murdering his young wife has been released on bail, for just $500.
The man, 28 year-old Khaleefa Lambert, was released from the army as he served in Afghanistan in order to come home and deal with his divorce. His 18 year-old wife, Ashley Cecelia Barnes-Lambert, had filed for divorce amid claims of abuse from her husband.
Ashley posted the following message on her MySpace page on Saturday:
You never know how strong you are until being strong is (the) only choice you have.
Shortly after posting the message, she was found stabbed to death in her husband’s car. Her husband was charged with 1st degree murder, but for some reason was released on $500 bail.
The murdered girl’s mother, Michelle Bosarge, said:
When she got here, she knew he would hurt her if he got his hands on her. She just didn’t want to be married to him anymore. She had dreams, and he was bashing them, and he was jealous.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he now either turns up dead, or someone else is murdered.

It was not him who was on Army leave, it was her. He had domestic violence in his history, serving time in Illinois prison after dangling his ex-girlfriend’s daughter out a window because she was trying to leave him. Do your reasearch
Get it straight! She was an 18 year old soldier deployed in Afghanistan who found the courage to leave a man ten years older than she, a man who had a history of abusing her. She was given two weeks of leave to finalize the divorce and would have been returning to Afghanistan shortly to finish her deployment tour.
I suspect you are confusing this with the bond that was set after he was indicted on a domestic violence charge earlier this year, stemming from an incident a couple of weeks after they were married in Nov 2008. But he is definitely being held without bond after the murder charge.
